As members of the senior class of 2018, we have crossed a new frontier of authority and responsibility. However, the bright, red-filled core center reflects our ardent enthusiasm to be the new leaders of the Upper School and the King Street Chronicle.

Although each of us started in different stages of Sacred Heart Greenwich– lower, middle, and upper school– the nurturing community here has allowed each of us to grow into the people we are today.

With the end of our high school careers approaching, we reflect on the memories we made, people we met, and values that carried us through these past four years.
Sacred Heart has given us numerous opportunities and all the necessary tools to be active members of both our local and global communities. The support and compassion of our teachers and classmates cultivated within us an astute ability to communicate with the people around us and be attentive to the needs of others.

For instance, the Upper School theme for the 2017-18 school year, “Rise Up,” embodies our ambitious attitude to make positive change in both our school community and society. “Rise Up” not only echoes Goal Three through “a social awareness which impels to action”; it also underscores the idea that we must persevere through even the most insurmountable challenges. Although the Class of 2018 has encountered difficult times, Sacred Heart has equipped each of us with the core values that enable us to navigate them with grace and strength.
This year, we become leaders of the Upper School. As leaders, we wish to model both Sacred Heart’s Goals and Criteria as well as this year’s “Rise Up” theme for our peers. So, as we embark on our last strolls through these halls, we will recognize our privilege and independence as school leaders. Most importantly, however, we will also carry with us the responsibility of modeling values of empathy, compassion, and resilience for the Sacred Heart community and beyond.
As we all embark on another year at Sacred Heart, we hope you will join us in reading this year’s King Street Chronicle!
