What is your favorite aspect of the Barat Foundation?
“My favorite aspect of the Barat Foundation is watching all of my fellow members at work. Because the Foundation is student-run, it allows each member to take a leadership role and gives each student the power to make a real change in their community and even globally. Working with the members of the Foundation shows me the true power of our generation. Their passion and dedication inspires me and shows me that, regardless of how young we are, we have the power to make the world a better place.”
What motivated you to apply for a position on the Barat Foundation’s Executive Board?
“I applied for a position on the Barat Foundation’s executive board because I developed a passion for the work that we do over the four years that I was a member. I wanted to have a greater role in the process, too.”
Why do you think that incoming freshmen should apply to be members of the foundation?
“Being a member of the Barat Foundation has taught me so much. I have been exposed to issues that I would never have before, I have learned financial skills, and I have learned how to work as a member of a team. Being able to work together and to see how our donations impact the applicants year after year has inspired me to go forth and continue with community service and charitable work in college and beyond. To any rising freshmen or sophomores, I highly recommend applying to become a member, as being a part of this group has changed my life, and how I view the world for the better.”
