Reflection on childhood dreams
As the Convent of the Sacred Heart Class of 2013 approaches graduation and college, its members take time to reflect on their past hopes and future career aspirations.
Alexa deAlessandrini: “For a significant portion of my childhood, I wanted to be the Little Mermaid. It was my dream to be able to sing ‘Under the Sea’ in real time.”
Kyra Baldwin: “I wanted to be an auctioneer because I could yell things loudly.”
Becca Quirke: “I really wanted to be everything when I was younger, none of which was ever realistic. However, for a little while I did want to be a lawyer. I also wanted to be a farmer at one point.”
Lauren Totonis: “When I was younger my dream was to be astronaut. I always heard other kids say they wanted to fly to the moon, but I was convinced that one day I would actually do it.”
Kelsey Roche: “When I was younger I wanted to be an actress on Lizzie McGuire.”
Emma Molloy: “When I was younger I always thought I would become either a Veterinarian or an Olympic Swimmer. I figured swimming would be my main focus and I could help animals on the weekends.”
Marguerite Francois: “When I was younger, I had a dream of becoming a paleontologist and traveling the world to search for old fossils/dinosaur remains.”
Julie Randolph: “I went through different phases… I wanted to be a writer, then a nurse, then a lawyer… and now I don’t know what I want to be.”
Jackie Batrus: “When I was younger I wanted to be a ballerina pop-star.”
Whitney Rose Terry: “I wanted to be so many different things; it changed on a weekly basis. However I think I mostly wanted to be a veterinarian.”
Margaret Dunne: “When I was younger I wanted to be a doctor and I still do!”
