Zip up your riding boots and pick out your coziest scarves. Fall is here. With only three months to enjoy the middle ground weather, here are the must-do things for the season.
Like building snowmen during the winter holidays, apple picking is a well-known tradition for autumn. With apple season at its peak, local orchards are booming with families in search of Galas and Granny Smiths.
Hand-in-hand with apple picking falls pumpkin picking, of course. These seasonal goods, found at a local farm or supermarket, can be taken home for various carving and baking endeavors.
From farm to kitchen counter, festive recipes that incorporate hand-picked apples, pumpkins, and other fall produce abound. The season seems almost incomplete without freshly baked pies and warm, tangy cider.
In addition, as baseball and football seasons come to a close, sports fanatics bundle up for those last chilly Friday night games and Saturday morning practices. Others appreciate the change of seasons with charity walks, festivals, and other outdoor activities.

“When fall comes around I get to go on hiking trips with my family and it’s amazing to really take in the nice weather and changing scenery,” sophomore Grace Sutherland said.
However, this blend of warm yet brisk weather does not only appeal to the nature-lovers. Fashionistas also take advantage of the season, mixing old summer favorites with their new winter cozies.
So grab your pumpkin spice lattes, write up your fall to-do lists, and do not forget to appreciate the autumn weather while it lasts.
