What do you hope to bring to the Upper School community?
“I hope to bring enthusiasm and a positive spirit to the Upper School.”
How has your transition from Middle to Upper School been thus far?
“The transition has been easier than I expected, thanks in large part to the support of my colleagues. Mrs. Vasu and Dr. Lillo have been so generous, sharing time and resources as I acclimate to the ninth and tenth grade English curricula. Because of the adjustments made this year because of COVID-19, so many changes are new to all of us. I am not the only one getting used to Green/White week and the new block schedule. Also, since I taught in the Middle School during distance learning this spring, I was already familiar with Zoom.”
What is your favorite part of teaching?
“Developing strong relationships with my students is my favorite part of teaching. My students are kind, welcoming, and incredibly hard-working. I find this time of year, roughly two months into school, to be particularly rewarding, as you are getting to know each student more deeply and establishing a rapport and rhythm with each section.”
The King Street Chronicle thanks Mrs. Sarah Martin, Upper School English Teacher, for her contributions to “Humans of Sacred Heart.”
