Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.  Line a nine-inch by nine-inch pan with parchment paper.  Melt the butter.   Mix the cake mix, egg, melted butter, milk, and salt in one large bowl until the ingredients are combined.  Place the batter into a baking dish and smooth the top.  Place the Oreos on top of the batter in an even layer.  Press down on the Oreos so that the batter covers them.
  • Bake in the oven for about 30 to 35 minutes.  Let it cool completely.
  • Unwrap the Hershey’s Cookies ‘N’ Creme Bars and place them in a microwave-safe bowl.  Microwave until the candy bars are completely melted.  Pour the melted bars over the red velvet brownie and smooth it into an even layer with an offset spatula.
  • Let it sit in the refrigerator for ten minutes.  Drizzle the melted milk chocolate over the red velvet brownie and refrigerate for another five minutes.  Slice into squares and serve.

Movie: White Christmas

“Singers Bob Wallace (Bing Crosby) and Phil Davis (Danny Kaye) join sister act Betty (Rosemary Clooney) and Judy Haynes (Vera-Ellen) to perform a Christmas show in rural Vermont.  There, they run into Gen.  Waverly (Dean Jagger), the boys’ commander in World War II, who, they learn, is having financial difficulties; his quaint country inn is failing.  So what’s the foursome to do but plan a yuletide miracle: a fun-filled musical extravaganza that’s sure to put Waverly and his business in the black,” courtesy of imdb.com.

Memory: Amanda Ciminello ’24

“My favorite Christmas memory is having a gingerbread house decorating competition with my cousins, where my other family members are the judges and vote on which gingerbread house won.  The first time we did this we did it in teams of two and we all got to be creative and come up with a theme for our gingerbread houses.  This is one of my favorite Christmas memories because all of my cousins and I have the opportunity to get into the Christmas spirit together while sharing many laughs and creating new fun memories.”
