“Humans of the Sacred Heart” – Genesis Grey ’24
What character are you playing in Anastasia, and how do you relate to your character?
“I play Vlad in Anastasia. I think we’re alike because we both try to defuse tense situations with humor. If there’s a conflict, Vlad will swoop in and try to stop it before it becomes a more significant issue.”
How do you get into character before you perform?
“Before I perform, I like to listen to music. I have a playlist with songs that remind me of Vlad or any role I perform. I think Vlad would listen to songs like “Billionaire” by Travis McCoy and “L-O-V-E” by Nat King Cole because Vlad is motivated by love and money.”
What is your favorite part about the performing arts?
“My favorite part about the performing arts is the community. Everyone is super supportive, and we always have a super fun time. There is never a moment we aren’t laughing and dancing around the stage.”
