During the 12 days until Christmas break, the King Street Chronicle will again present staff favorites from the holiday season. This third edition will not include three French hens, but beloved Christmas songs, memories, recipes, movies, and crafts.

Recipe: Chocolate Crinkle Cookies
Total Time: 25 minutes
Quantity: 20 cookies
Ingredients:
- One-half cup of unsweetened cocoa powder
- One cup of granulated sugar
- One-fourth cup of vegetable, canola, or light olive oil
- Two large eggs
- One teaspoon of vanilla extract
- One cup of all-purpose flour
- One teaspoon of baking powder
- One-fourth teaspoon of salt
- One cup of confectioner sugar
Steps:
- In a mixing bowl, combine sugar, cocoa powder, oil, vanilla extract, and eggs. Whisk until the mixture is smooth.
- In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Add the flour mixture to the cocoa mixture and stir to combine.
- Cover the dough with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least three hours and up to overnight.
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Scoop the dough into 20 cookies, roll the cookie dough into even-sized balls, and generously roll each into powdered sugar.
- Place cookies on a baking sheet, making sure to leave space between each of the cookies. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes, depending on the size of the cookies. Cookies will come out soft but will harden as they cool down.
- Allow cookies to slightly cool. Then, move them to a wire rack to fully cool.

Activity: Snowy Mason Jars
Supplies:
- Mason jar
- Hot glue gun
- Epsom salt
- Glitter
- Flameless tea lights
Instructions:
- Combine one cup of Epsom salt with a tablespoon of glitter in a disposable plate or bowl.
- Apply a layer of glue around the mason jar.
- Sprinkle the glitter Epsom salt around the jar until evenly covered. Place the jars on a cleanable surface or paper in case glue drips down while drying. Allow the jars to dry for several hours, preferably overnight.
- Cut a small piece of faux greenery and use a dot of hot glue to adhere to the top of the jar. Wrap twine around the mouth of the jar a few times and tie off with a bow. Add a flickering tea light to create luminaries for your holiday decor.
