During the 12 days until Christmas break, the King Street Chronicle will again present staff favorites from the holiday season. This fifth edition will not include golden rings, but beloved Christmas songs, memories, recipes, movies, and crafts.

Recipe: Cake Mix Cookies
Total Time: 20 minutes
Quantity: 24 cookies
Ingredients:
- 15 and one-fourth ounce box of white cake mix
- Two eggs
- One and one-half cups of vegetable oil
- One teaspoon of vanilla extract
- Three-fourth cup of sprinkles
Steps:
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper or a nonstick baking mat.
- Mix the white cake mix, eggs, oil, and vanilla extract in a large bowl until smooth.
- Stir in one-fourth cup of the sprinkles.
- Roll the dough into tablespoon-sized balls.
- Pour the remaining one and one-half cups of sprinkles onto a plate. Roll the balls of dough around in the sprinkles to coat.
- Place the balls of dough two inches apart on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for eight to ten minutes or until cookies are set and lightly browned.
- After the cookies cool, remove them from the baking sheet and repeat the baking process with the remaining dough.

Activity: Yarn Stars
Supplies:
- Colored yarn
- X-Acto knife
- Cardboard
- Hot glue gun
Instructions:
- Cut a star shape from a piece of cardboard using an X-Acto knife.
- Wrap the star in yarn, using dabs of hot glue to help hold the yarn in place near the points of the star until fully covered.
- Glue the ends of a length of yarn to the back on one point to create a loop for hanging.
