How did it feel performing at the Holy Thursday Prayer Service in front of the entire Sacred Heart Greenwich community?
“I have sung the song before at a Liturgy, but I wasn’t expecting to do it again, so I was honestly pretty nervous. However, I also felt very supported. Mrs. [Eva] Carrasquero has coached me in singing for five years now, and working with her has helped boost my confidence in my singing as well as my technique. It is because of her that I’ve been able to share my love of singing with everyone.”
What ignited your passion for singing?
“I would probably have to say that my family inspired my passion for singing. My great-aunt sings opera professionally, and we both bond so closely over music. I’ve also been singing ever since I was very little, so my passion for singing has been with me for years.”
How has music transformed your personal life?
“Singing has always been a lifeline for me in some way. Weirdly enough, anytime I feel angry, upset, or simply confused, I find a piano and start to write and sing. Getting my feelings out through music and songwriting has just always been a way of coping with what I’m going through, and it is one of the reasons why I find so much joy in my life.”
