As a member of the Sustainability Club, what have you done to make the Sacred Heart Greenwich campus as environmentally sound as possible?
“As a member of the Sustainability Club, I have contributed to initiatives such as the composting program, anti-idling campaign, waste audit, and helping to reach the various Audubon International requirements.”
How did the Sustainability Club prepare for the Earth Day celebration throughout the school?
“Throughout the year, the Sustainability Club worked to organize the Earth Day celebration, doing everything from planning workshops and morning meeting presentations to creating graphics and posters for the event. In particular, Ms. [Ellyn] Stewart and Avery Kim were huge contributors to the success of the day.”
What was your favorite aspect of the Earth Day chapel?
“My favorite aspect of the Earth Day Chapel was how we incorporated a variety of different forms of prayer. Music, written reflections, photos, silence, poetry, and scripture all came together to create an engaging and heartfelt chapel.”
