How has your role as Green Team Captain evolved over the five years you have been on the student council both in the Middle and Upper School?
“Being the Green Team Captain in the Middle School gave me great exposure to how the student council works and what makes a good leader. I loved the role, and it helped me form a foundation that would help me in the years to follow. As a freshman, it was so valuable to be able to work with students from all grades in high school and see how they plan and create fun and organized activities. Now as a senior, I am able to help lead others and work with my peers to build our community and make every year fun.”
What is your favorite memory as Green Team Captain?
“I am so lucky to have so many great memories, but one of my favorite memories was when I was a freshman and one of my fellow green team captains helped announce Congé on Halloween by dropping a banner from the mansion balcony. Even as freshmen, our roles were valued, and we helped make the day run smoothly.”
What leadership lessons have you learned in your time as Green Team Captain?
“Being the Green Team Captain for the student council has taught me many valuable lessons about how to improve my leadership, communication, and creativity. It has taught me how to collaborate with others in order to plan activities for the whole high school or even school. I have learned to think creatively, and I have loved getting to work with friends, teachers, and peers to create a great environment for our community.”
