Guide to Greenwich – Pumpkin Spice Lattes
November 2, 2018
For this edition of Guide to Greenwich, I strolled through the local area and reviewed the delicious and popular flavor of the fall season: Pumpkin Spice Lattes.
Starbucks
My first stop was Starbucks, located on Greenwich Avenue. Inside the coffeehouse, caffeine enthusiasts felt the season change as they sipped their hot drinks and ate Starbucks’ assorted pastries. As the customers sat down and read their newspapers and magazines, more shoppers flowed in and left with smiles on their faces and a drink in hand.
I ordered a Grande hot Pumpkin Spice Latte for $5.46. This signature seasonal drink includes whipped cream and real pumpkin pie spices. The barista made the sweet beverage, and I immediately could smell autumn in the air. I could not get enough of the refreshing pumpkin flavor.
Although the store was hectic, the staff was still delighted to make the drinks and to see customers enjoying them. Overall, Starbucks’ Pumpkin Spice Latte was the perfect beverage for a chilly fall day.
Aux Délices
Next, I traveled to Aux Délices, on West Elm Street. Inside the small café, many people were walking about with drinks and treats in hand. I waited in line, noting the delightful sweets and sandwiches the store offers. Once again, the strong scent of the fall season and pumpkin spice filled the air as the baristas brewed a new pot of coffee.
After a short wait, I paid $3.29 for a small hot Pumpkin Spice Latte and made my way to the self-service coffee dispensers. I poured myself a mixture of coffee, milk, and sugar, and in seconds it was complete. When I finished the making the drink, I was very excited to taste the spices of the pumpkin flavored beverage.
The drink gave a delicious taste of pumpkin spice and sweet cream. Aux Délices was a great place to buy a hot or cold beverage and enjoy the atmosphere.
Coffee Café Roasters
Lastly, I traveled to Coffee Café Roasters on Greenwich Avenue. As soon as I entered the restaurant, pleasant customers who seemed to be enjoying their coffees greeted me, despite the brisk weather outside. However, the café was very crowded, so the server did not take my order immediately.
I ordered a medium hot Pumpkin Spice Latte for $5.32. I sat down and absorbed the cold weather and autumn spirit while enjoying my sizzling drink.
I was in awe at the amount of savory foam that almost overflowed my cup. Although the servers were busy preparing drinks and meals for all of their happy customers, they did not hesitate to check in with me to see if I wanted a refill.
Winner:
After tasting all the autumn inspired beverages, the winner of this edition of Guide to Greenwich is the Pumpkin Spice Latte from Aux Délices. This option had a perfect ratio of pumpkin spice and sweet cream. It was the ideal drink for a cold fall day.
