Charlotte Marvin ’22
Junior Charlotte Marvin serves as Junior Class President at Sacred Heart Greenwich. This is an elected position on the student council, chosen by the junior class. Charlotte hopes to bring her grade closer together through bonding activities and to set an example as a leader in her community.
As she is a lifer at Sacred Heart, Charlotte has always wanted to lead her grade and give back to the community. She decided to run for the position last spring because she wanted to represent everyone in the grade and add another perspective to the council. In her role as Junior Class President, Charlotte organizes various meetings and events for her grade as well as represents her class regarding any academic or related issues that impacts their junior class.
“I perform a ton of duties as class president, actually way more than I knew of when I took it on, but I was 100% prepared and ecstatic to be representing our grade for each job,” Charlotte said. “I plan weekly student council meetings, our grade meetings, the content of our grade social media, our class bonding activities and class lunches/treats/competitions/
With COVID-19 restrictions, the juniors missed out on a year of class bonding. The student council works to gain back that time through new activities that can be socially-distanced or done virtually.
“I think the rest of the student council and I have really made it our priority to find new ways of grade bonding and participation in such a unique year,” Charlotte said. “Because everyone was quarantined for so long last year, our job was really to make the grade feel like a family and community again in a time that is oftentimes lonely. Through activities and retreats, I truly believe the Class of ’22 has come so far and that we are all one big sisterhood that really love one another. I am so proud of that achievement after all we have been through together.”
