Impress family and friends with easy-to-make festive treats that are high in style and low on hassle.
When planning for any holiday activity, two colors typically come to mind: red and green. Adding these colors to simple baked goods will instantly fit the occasion.
For an easy indulgence, dip pretzels in melted white chocolate and sprinkle with red and green sprinkles. Allow the pretzels to chill before arranging them in a glass bowl for a delicious decoration or even in plastic bags as a take-home favor for holiday party guests.
Cookies for Santa are also an easy bake. Seasonal cookie cutters make store-bought cookie dough more homey. Once cut and baked, a bit of icing and sprinkles add festive adornment.
Another eye-grabbing treat that will leave guests pleasantly surprised with both presentation and taste are Christmas tree cupcakes. Make sure to have vanilla cupcake mix and green frosting on hand. Simply follow the directions for making the cupcakes, then add frosting for the tree, sprinkles as the ornaments, and a candy star to top it off.
Hot cocoa is another classic of the season and a good option for those cold winter nights spent idly by the fire. Instead of using the conventional Swiss Miss packets to prepare your drink, try mixing a cup of milk, two tablespoons of unsweetened cocoa, a tablespoon of white sugar, and a splash of vanilla for a homemade taste. Finish it off with marshmallows, whipped cream, and a candy cane for a peppermint twist.
These effortless and delicious recipes will appeal to family and friends and bring plenty of Christmas cheer.
