Galentine’s Day celebrates female friendship and self-love as an alternative to Valentine’s Day, providing a positive outlet for those who may feel loneliness during the traditional holiday. The day encourages love among oneself and friends, transforming the season into a time of embracing companionship and recognizing the special relationships females share while cultivating self-love. We spoke with Sacred Heart Greenwich senior Samantha Mecane, Miss Karen Panarella, Assistant Head of Upper School, Dr. Lisa Schwartz, Upper School Psychologist, and Dr. Melissa Otero, Lower and Upper School Psychologist and Lead Wellness Strand of the Department of Student Support Services, to discuss their insights on the importance of female friendships and self-love.
