What has it been like attending the same school where your mom teaches since you were a baby?
“Going to school with my mom since I was a baby has brought us closer together through the many car rides, school events, and more. Being a faculty kid meant that I always had a constant presence of support just a classroom away. I am so glad my mom chose a Sacred Heart education for me because there could be no other environment so kind and nurturing, and I wouldn’t be the person I am today without it.”
What is your favorite part of the Mother Daughter Liturgy?
“My favorite part of the Mother Daughter Liturgy is the mother-daughter reflection. Even if not everyone relates to their [story], each speech resonates with everyone in the way they echo the tenderness of every mother-daughter relationship. Even the interactions as we exit the liturgy are a testament to how this tradition brings mothers and daughters together every year.”
Why is the Mother Daughter Liturgy an important tradition at Sacred Heart?
“The Mother Daughter Liturgy is important to Sacred Heart because Mater, the mother of Jesus, is so intrinsic to this school. As Mary is the model of motherhood, in celebrating the Mother Daughter Liturgy, we celebrate our mothers who have raised us in faith by Mary’s example.”
