How does engaging in Earth Week deepen and shape your understanding of sustainability and environmental responsibility?
“Engaging in Earth Week is even more meaningful now than ever, especially with the effects of global warming on our environment. Thus, Earth Week helps us deepen our understanding of environmental responsibility because we are called to reflect upon the history of the land God has blessed with, and live as stewards to ensure it is treated with care, not just during Earth Week, but in our everyday lives.”
How does Earth Week bring the Sacred Heart Greenwich community together? How does Earth Week highlight the values and mission of Sacred Heart?
“I see Earth Week bringing the Sacred Heart community together specifically in the gathering before the workshops, and the workshops themselves. Taking initiative in these workshops highlights the Sacred Heart mission, specifically Goal III, because it is so refreshing to be out in nature together and learn sustainable measures we can take to protect our beautiful campus.”
How does Earth Week challenge students to take responsibility and encourage environmental action beyond our school community?
“I think it is important to take action beyond the school community because it will make a significant difference in the long run, and our efforts to encourage change will only benefit the environment. Earth Week challenges me to really think about the impact my actions have on the earth and how I can positively advocate for sustainability.”
The King Street Chronicle thanks junior Olivia Morris ’27 for her contributions to “Humans of Sacred Heart.”
