12 Days of Christmas — Day 6


During the twelve days until Christmas break, the King Street Chronicle will again present staff favorites from the holiday season. This sixth edition will not include six geese-a-laying, but beloved Christmas songs, recipes, movies, crafts, and festive wear.

Rudolph Brownies

  • One box of brownie mix
  • Ingredients on back of brownie mix (usually oil, eggs, and water)
  • 24 pretzels
  • 12 red M&M’s
  • About a half cup of melted chocolate
  • 24 sugar eye decorations (or white chocolate)


  1. Prepare brownies as directed and let cool.
  2. Using the chocolate as glue, stick on the pretzels, sugar eyes, and M&M’s to create the Rudolph’s face.

Movie: Frosty the Snowman
“It’s Christmas time, and the kids are trying to get ready for their Christmas break when they notice that their snowman has come to life. With joy in their hearts, they have to make sure that ‘Frosty’ manages to get to a colder climate before he becomes nothing more than a puddle of water,” according to imdb.com.
DIY: Oversized Snowflakes

  • Hot glue gun
  • Popsicle sticks
  • Gold metallic spray paint


  1. Pick a geometric snowflake design.
  2. Use the hot glue gun to connect the popsicle sticks to form the design.
  3. Spray paint the finished snowflakes gold.
