What is your favorite class in the Upper School at Sacred Heart Greenwich and why?
My favorite class in the Upper School at Sacred Heart Greenwich is Chinese. At first, I was intimidated to take the language, but after I embraced the challenge I was pleasantly surprised by how much I learned. As Chinese is the most widely spoken language in the world, I felt as if it was a tool that I could use in the future, potentially for a future career. My favorite part of Chinese is writing the characters I learn in class, helping me to further embrace the Chinese culture.
If you could travel to anywhere in the world where would you go and why?
If I could travel anywhere in the world, I would love to visit our sister school in Uganda. I would be interested to see how our sisters go to school across the world, and how Sacred Heart traditions are translated. I would also love to see how the goals and criteria help shape our lives regardless of our geographic backgrounds.
What is something that you like to do outside of school?
I volunteer at The Miracle League of Westchester, which is an organization that enables children with special needs to play baseball. My cousin Brianna is a player in The Miracle League and her enthusiasm inspired me to volunteer. This organization allows kids to develop their social skills while building self-esteem. It is fulfilling to see the children smile while being involved in a warm, non-competitive community.
The King Street Chronicle thanks junior Bianca Massello ’19 for her contributions to “Humans of Sacred Heart”.
