Last year was not only a time of challenge but also recovery and technological progress. 2023 was the warmest year on record, according to abcnews.com. Powerful earthquakes shook civilians in Turkey, Syria, Morocco, and Afghanistan, claiming tens of thousands of lives. The war between Russia and Ukraine stretched on, and conflict erupted between Israel and Hamas militant groups. Amid these disasters, 2023 also brought positivity and advancement. Last May, the Center for Disease Control ended the public health emergency declaration of the coronavirus pandemic. The Artificial Intelligence (AI) revolution began, as companies released chatbots and public exposure to the technology soared. In 2023, the King Street Chronicle welcomed 12 staff writers and established a new category to recognize Sacred Heart Greenwich’s 175 years. Avery Kim, Co-Editor-in-Chief

Avery is honored to serve as one of the Editors-in-Chief of the King Street Chronicle. After two years on the newspaper’s staff, she has learned countless lessons in communication, collaboration, and responsibility. She is eager to lead the paper this year and share her passion for journalism with the new staff writers. When Avery is not writing or editing articles, she spends her time maintaining the campus beehives, singing in the Madrigals choir, and managing the Studio Art Club.

Ana is immensely grateful to serve as this year’s Co-Editor-in-Chief and Social Media Manager. Approaching her third year at the King Street Chronicle, Ana is committed to instilling a dedicated and collaborative environment in the newsroom and is eager to welcome the newspaper’s newest staff members. Additionally, Ana hopes to weave her interests in current events, linguistics, and design into her articles this year and hopes to share her passions with her peers. When not in the newsroom, Ana manages a fashion blog, leads the World Language Club and the ARISE Club, and serves as Vice-President of the Barat Foundation.
