For the Senior Edition of Guide to Greenwich, I visited three of the Class of 2025’s favorite lunch spots to determine which one earns the title of best senior lunch stop. I judged each location based on atmosphere, service, taste, and proximity to Sacred Heart Greenwich, while trying some of the seniors’ go-to meals.
Belle Fair Kitchen

Located just down King Street, Belle Fair Kitchen is a convenient lunch spot for seniors looking for a quick bite between classes. The menu offers a wide range of options, from breakfast sandwiches and fresh salads to quesadillas, wraps, and burgers. There is also a solid selection of drinks whether you are in the mood for a coffee, soda, or energy drink. When I visited around 3:30 p.m., the restaurant was quite mellow, so the service was very efficient. The employees kindly greeted me right away. Belle Fair‘s interior has a casual, inviting atmosphere with plenty of seating for groups or solo diners.
During my visit, I tried the Avocado Toast with an over easy egg on top, which came to $8.25. The toast was flavorful and fresh with a nice hint of lime, though the bread was bland. Overall, Belle Fair is a reliable pick for seniors craving a convenient lunch.
Glenville Deli

Just an eight minute drive from Sacred Heart, Glenville Deli has earned its reputation as a classic and practical senior lunch spot. Thanks to the staff’s quick service and convenient location, it is a go-to for busy students looking to grab a meal between classes. While the deli’s interior is small and seating is sparse, most students happily grab their food to-go, especially since it is so close to campus. The menu also offers plenty of affordable options, including everything from coffee and burgers to salads and wraps.
I visited the deli around 10:30 a.m. and ordered the bacon, egg and cheese on a roll. At this time there was no line and few other customers in the deli, so my order did not take long to prepare. The total came to $5.50 and was well worth the price. While I was waiting for my food, the staff were very friendly. When the sandwich arrived, it was a perfect temperature and tasted delightful. With generous portions, great prices, and fast service, Glenville Deli remains a top pick for seniors craving a reliable and tasty lunch on the go.
Aux Délices

Located on West Elm Street, just off Greenwich Avenue, and 20 minutes from Sacred Heart, Aux Délices offers a wide variety of fresh and creative sandwiches, wraps, salads, and desserts. With over 20 sandwich and wrap options, it is no surprise that this spot has become a favorite among seniors looking for something delicious. At Aux Délices, I purchased a mini tomato mozzarella sandwich, which cost $6.50. The sandwich had the perfect ratio of tomato to mozzarella with a slight hint of vinaigrette. It was an extremely refreshing sandwich on a humid day in May.
Aux Délices does come with a few challenges in location, though. The drive to the café can be tricky on a tight lunch break. I arrived around 1:30 p.m., during peak lunch hour, so it was pretty busy in the small cafe. Additionally, the limited seating often makes takeout the best option, as midday parking on and near Greenwich Avenue can prove to be a challenge. Many students place orders ahead of time to avoid long waits and make sure they get back to school on time. While the menu is on the pricier side, the high-quality ingredients and variety make it well worth the splurge.
Winner
After visiting three locations, I decided Glenville Deli was the best senior lunch spot. With its fast service, reasonable prices, and delicious food, it is the perfect place to grab a satisfying lunch off-campus. It is also only five minutes from Sacred Heart, making it convenient for students. While Belle Fair is the closest in proximity to campus and Aux Délices has creative options, Glenville Deli is the best option overall.
