"Humans of Sacred Heart" – Athena Corroon ’19

Why did you decide to attend the United States Naval Academy?
“I chose the Naval Academy because it has the perfect balance of all of my passions: academics, athletics, and a desire to serve my country.  I want to be a part of something that is larger than myself, and I believe I can find this at the Naval Academy.”
What aspects of attending the Naval Academy excite you the most?
“The Naval Academy is not your typical college experience, which is something that appeals to me.  Every day is hard work – there are no off-days.  I am excited to be able to push myself to become the best officer I can be.  There are numerous unique opportunities that come from attending a service academy, all of which I am extremely excited about.”
What will you miss the most about Sacred Heart?
“I will definitely miss all the amazing people.  The community at Sacred Heart is unlike any other.  The friendships that I have made here are ones that will last a lifetime.”
The King Street Chronicle thanks senior Athena Corroon ’19 for her contributions to “Humans of Sacred Heart.”
