Kristen Walsh ’19:
How long have you been attending Sacred Heart Greenwich and what will you miss the most about Sacred Heart next year?
“I have been a student at Sacred Heart Greenwich since I was in the sixth grade.  Over the past seven years, I have grown close with so many members of this community, including students and faculty, and I am really going to miss them next year.  Moments as simple as walking with my friends to class and saying ‘hi’ to the teachers I pass in the halls along the way have been special to me, and I will certainly miss these relationships and interactions next year.”
Where are you going to college next year and what are you most looking forward to?
“Next year, I will be attending the University of Virginia.  I am most excited about joining a new community filled with students from different places and backgrounds, numerous opportunities for growth and exploration, and incredible spirit and energy.”
Valedictorian is an exceptional academic honor.  How do you feel about this achievement?
“I am truly humbled to be valedictorian, and I’m so thankful to everyone who has helped me to reach this point.  The fact that Meredith and I share the role makes it all the more special, as we have gone through the last four years of high school together, sharing the majority of our classes, collaborating, and being each other’s biggest cheerleaders.  I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to speak on behalf of my entire grade at graduation, and I hope to make them proud on our big day.”
Meredith Wilson ’19:
How long have you been attending Sacred Heart Greenwich and what will you miss the most about Sacred Heart next year?
“I have been attending Sacred Heart Greenwich since freshman year.  What I will miss most about the school is absolutely the kindness and spontaneity of Sacred Heart students.  The individuals I’ve met have been both enthusiastic about forging meaningful and selfless connections with others, as well as constantly willing to seek adventure and have lighthearted fun.”
Where are you going to college next year and what are you most looking forward to?
“I am ecstatic to attend the University of Notre Dame next year, and I am looking forward to immersing myself in campus life there.  I have lived in New York for my entire life, and I am excited to embrace all that comes with living in a new place with an atmosphere as joyful and welcoming as Notre Dame’s campus.”
Valedictorian is an exceptional academic honor.  How do you feel about this achievement?
“I am so very grateful to have received this honor.  It was in no way an individualistic effort, and I am incredibly thankful to the family, friends, and faculty who have supported me.  I also cannot express how thrilled I am to share this honor with Kristen.  She is one of the most extraordinary people I’ve ever met, and I am so happy that we have had each other as both great friends and constant sources of support in exciting and challenging times over the past four years.”
