“Humans of Sacred Heart” – Valentina Grether ’20

How long have you been attending Sacred Heart Greenwich and what will you miss the most about Sacred Heart next year?

“I have been at Sacred Heart since fifth grade.  Without a doubt, what I will miss most about Sacred Heart will be the people– from Mr. Allison saying good morning in the bus loop as I’m walking up to Madrigals, to my friends and I discussing the newest conspiracy theories with Mr. Valentine and Mrs. Bozzi during lunch, or even just stopping by Mrs. Bensen’s office for a quick ‘hello’ as I’m running to class.”

Where are you going to college next year and what are you most looking forward to?

“I am thrilled to be attending Brown University next year.  What I’m most looking forward to is all the amazing classes I will get to take at Brown.  I’m still pretty undecided about what I want to study, so I’m really excited about exploring as many new fields as I can and hopefully discovering what it is that I’m passionate about.  I’m also looking forward to trying out many of the restaurants around campus because I hear that Providence is known for having great food.”

Valedictorian is an exceptional academic honor.  How do you feel about this achievement?

“I am beyond honored to have been named the Valedictorian for the Class of 2020, but I know without a doubt that I couldn’t have done it without the support of my family, friends, and faculty.  I’m extremely grateful to all those who have guided me throughout my high schools years.  Additionally, now that our senior year has unfortunately been cut short, I am more than ever in awe of the Class of 2020.  Every single one of my fellow classmates is really an extraordinary student with unparalleled determination, character, and grace.  I miss my Class of 2020 sisters every day, but I am thankful to have been blessed to share my high school experience with them.”
