Students and faculty celebrate National Poetry Month with original and meaningful poems about the female experience.

Exploring female empowerment through poetry

In preparation for National Poetry Month and in honor of Women’s History Month, Sacred Heart Greenwich students and faculty crafted and selected poems related to female empowermentSra. Montserrat García, Upper School World Language Teacher and Network Exchange Coordinator, senior Joi Almonacy, and freshman Kathleen Denvir shared poems of personal significance.  Junior Jhonni Dixon and sophomore Claire Maher authored their own poems, using poetic techniques including imagery, metaphor, and repetition to convey messages of feminism and demonstrate how girls can both literally and metaphorically write their own stories.
