Upper and Middle School musical performers shined during the annual spring concert April 30, 2026 in the Lennie and John Csepel Theatre. The evening included 19 performances under the direction of Miss Annette Etheridge, Middle and Upper School Music Teacher and Choral Director of Madelines, A Ca-Bellas, and Madrigals, Mr. Sean Lowery, Upper and Middle School Orchestra Director and Chorus Director, Miss Danielle Gennaro ‘05, Bell Director, and Ms. Cynthia Alonzo-Fay, Upper School Dance Director.

The evening began with the Madeleines performing an inspiring rendition of “Hands are Knockin” by Mr. Kyle Pederson. As the youngest performers of the night, their energy captivated the audience and set a promising mood for the rest of the night’s performances. Shortly after, the Middle School Bell Choir filled the theatre with beautiful song, showcasing “Gymnopédie No. 1” By Mr. Erik Satie, along with “Theme From How To Train Your Dragon” by Mr. John Powell.
The Upper School Chorus then performed an enticing rendition of “Breaths” by Ms. Ysaÿe Barnwell with words by Mr. Birago Diop, as well as an upbeat performance of “I Don’t Wanna Know” by Ms. Stevie Nicks, arranged by Mr. Lowery. These performances showcased the freshmens’ growth in vocal talent since the beginning of the year. Later, the Upper School Stuart and Duchesne Bell Choirs added variety to the evening through their performances. These groups performed a dulcet rendition of “Theme from Interstellar” by Mr. Hans Zimmer and “Africa” by Mr. David Paich and Mr. Jeff Porcaro. Miss Gennaro arranges all bell compositions for the spring concert.

Later in the evening, the Nightingales performed a sentimental rendition of “I Lived” by Mr. Ryan Tedder and Mr. Noel Zancanella, arranged by Mr. Jacob Narverud. Afterwards, the dancers delivered a touching performance to the song “Lost” By Ms. Luz Corrigan, as well as two other performances to the songs “Black and Gold” by Ms. Brenna Whitaker and the orchestral version of “Leave the Light On” by Mr. Tom Walker. After, the A Ca-Bellas’ sang “The Greatest Show” by Mr. Ryan Lewis, Mr. Justin Paul, and Mr. Benj Pasek, arranged by Mr. Bryan Sharpe. Juniors Olivia Morris and Olivia Franco performed solos during the song.
The Orchestra, including soloists Ariel Duncan ’28, Izzy Nedder ’27, Olivia Franco, and Mia Ritossa ’26, brought energy to the theatre and performed an arrangement by Mr. Lowery combining the songs “Umbrella” by Mr. Shawn Carter (Jay- Z) and Ms. Robyn Fenty (Rihanna), and “The End” by Mr. John Lennon and Mr. Paul McCartney. Reminiscing on this year’s spring break trip to Italy, the Madrigals performed “A Lenten Love Song” by Ms. Helen Kemp, accompanied by choreography from the Dancers. They then performed a traditional spiritual “Tryin’ to Get Home” arranged by Mr. Anthony Trecek-King. Lastly, they sang “Pompeii” by Mr. Dan Smith, arranged by Mr. Jacob Narverud alongside senior Nidhi Ray on the drums. Madrigals senior Callie Regnery commented on her favorite part of being in the spring concert.
“My favorite part of performing in the spring concert is getting to watch all of the other performances after hearing how hard they all worked,” Callie said. “I always try to give a shout-out to the [Orchestra] or the Dancers and clap extra loud for the Chorus. Overall, I love to see all these amazing forms of art showcasing their talent.”

All singers in the Madeleines, Nightingales, A Ca-Bellas, Chorus, and Madrigals came together to conclude the concert with the song “A Million Dreams” from The Greatest Showman by Mr. Benj Pasek and Mr. Justin Paul, arranged by Mr. Mac Huff. The night ended with a cherished annual spring concert tradition. Miss Etheridge and Mr. Lowery honored graduating Madrigals, A Ca-Bellas, and Orchestra students for being a part of the music program during their time at Sacred Heart Greenwich. Seniors Clara Bonomo, Arianna Chin, Chloe Coviello, Olivia Figueiredo, Caroline Gammon, Caroline Hopley, Lexi Parsons, Eugenia Piriz, Nidhi Ray, Callie Regnery, Mia Ritossa, Annie Slocum, and Laurie Starke received a heart warming send-off. Callie reflected on how being a part of the music program has positively impacted her time at Sacred Heart.
“Performing at these concerts is really great because there is a wonderful sense of community within rehearsals,” Callie said. “I had the privilege of going to Italy with the Madrigals this year which was really fun. We got to form a community and share memories as well as stories. Most of the girls do the musical, sports, or clubs with me so I get to interact with them outside of Madrigals. Miss Etheridge is a fantastic teacher. She is so dedicated and committed to teaching us how to blend as one voice as well as blending as a community.”
